Our Mission

Established in 2019, Teen Resource 5 Incorporated was developed to fill a void for underserved teenagers in Muscogee County, Georgia. The goal in mind is to “eliminate barriers for teens to reach their personal goals towards independence”. TR5 believes that with focused resources, local teenagers have better chances to avoid poverty and crime.

TR5 focuses on 5 areas of interest for teens: Family Connections, Physical and Mental Health, Education, Vocation and Employment Skills, and Artistic Expression. These focus areas were chosen from a study conducted during meetings with teenage focus groups in 2019, which identified areas of need for local youth and families. We strive to update this every 5 years to ensure our program meets the needs of our community’s youth.

The overall nonprofit works through various forms of mentorship and guidance. We connect teens to local resources and other service groups, focusing on those 5 areas of interest and filling gaps as needed. Teenagers ages 11 to 19 are eligible for mentorship.
